Some researchers believe these shells and bones may have been stored by ancient humans.
Besides Urai Thong, the surrounding area also offers other interesting natural and archaeological sites. These include Ship Cave (Tham Samphao), known for ancient shell deposits, and Daughter Cave (Tham Luk Sao), which contains prehistoric animal bones, such as rhinoceros teeth, wild boar jawbones, and buffalo hooves.
